Apple Showcasing iPhone OS 4 on April 8

Apple has officially announced that they would showcase the next generation iPhone OS at a media event this week. Apple have sent an email to its developers early this week that the company will be holding the event at the Town Hall section of the Apple Campus at Cupertino at 10:00am PST, April 8.

One of the more substantial rumors regarding iPhone OS 4 is that it will at last include support for third party multitasking. Despite some assertions to the contrary, the iPhone is fully capable of supporting multitasking, it's just that Apple has only bestowed that ability upon its own apps, such as the iPod music player.

Apple makes Updates to its MobileMe Gallery app for iPhone and iPod touch, offering new improvements for adding friends' galleries to these two products. New app update offers a more convenient way to add your friends' galleries so that you can view their photos as easily as your own. In this from the Galleries screen, tap Add a Friend and then Choose Contacts (the number in parentheses indicates how many Mobile Me members are in your address book). Apple’s most recent patent application filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office is an evident indication that the iPhone-maker is set to mark its foray into the hugely-popular social networking arena.
